Frequently Asked Questions

Portrait Photography FAQs

Q: May I reschedule my session?

Of course!

Q: How many poses do I get?

We'll pose you in as many poses as we can fit in the time allotted, as we flow from one pose to another to create images that capture your spirit and personality.

Q: Can you take my photos outdoors?

Yes! We love shooting on location in the outdoors, from breathtaking images taken at downtown Cincinnati locations such as the Museum Center, and locations such as Spring Grove Cemetery to the scenic natural backdrops at Cincinnati's beautiful parks. We can also take your photos in our studio!

Q: How many clothing changes do I get?

As many outfits as you like but remember that changing time does count towards your session time.

Q:  What do I wear for a photo session?

The colors and styles you wear are important in looking your best! Solid colors are always best, as opposed to patterns, which can ruin photos. Very pale pastels and whites can make you looked washed-out.  Black and white together can offer too much contrast as well.  Color in makeup can help considerably. White or off-white can be fine for solo portraits, but please bring a change of outfit in case.

The best colors are blues, teals/turquoises, and other shades in the blue and blue-green family (the most universally flattering family of all colors). Rich and deeper greens, purples, and blue are all good. Peach colors can be ok on a blonde/fair skinned subject. Gray is better than black. Earthy and warm browns are good. Mid-tone or more vibrant rose-pink tones and corals are flattering depending on your skin coloring.

FOR COUPLE PORTRAITS AND GROUP SESSIONS

Choose one to three colors for your portrait, colors with similar tones that go nicely together. Then have everyone work within that color palette. For example, a group could wear dark green, navy, and burgundy, which are all dark jewel tones. Or a group could wear tan, a lighter olive-green, and denim, all of which are lighter, softer tones.

Normally, sleeves should be close to elbow length or greater and men should wear long pants, normally.

Q: How do you deliver my photos? Do you offer print packages?

We will deliver your images via a sharing site. The images you receive are yours to print and share in any way you wish. We don’t offer print packages, but we do recommend several places for high quality photos: Mpix and Nations Photo Lab.

Q: Will my images be displayed in an online gallery?

Yes. You can see the photographs in an online gallery as soon as they are ready. You may send the gallery link to friends and family so they may see the photos also.
